Country Overview
Malta covers 316 square kilometres and has approximately 431,000 residents. It is one of the IMF’s 36 advanced economies, and its economic growth ranked first in the EU in 2023. A former British colony, Malta uses English in government, media and education. Its inclusive, multicultural society is regularly ranked among Europe’s safest.
Program overview (10–12 months)
Permanent residency is obtained through a government contribution. Applicants must maintain a residential address in Malta for five years, either purchased or rented after approval. Contributions are made after approval. There is no arrival deadline or minimum stay; residents may live in Malta indefinitely, travel visa-free within Schengen, and access public education and healthcare.
Eligibility

The main applicant must be at least 18 with no criminal record.

Family net assets of EUR 500,000, including EUR 10,000 in liquid assets, or EUR 650,000, including EUR 75,000 in liquid assets.

A EUR 37,000 government contribution and EUR 2,000 charitable donation.

Rent or purchase a residential address in Malta and maintain it for five years. Minimum annual rent is EUR 14,000; the minimum property purchase price is EUR 375,000.
