Country Overview
Portugal borders Spain to the east and the Atlantic Ocean to the west and south. It covers about 92,226 square kilometres with 832 kilometres of coastline. Its mountainous north has a temperate oceanic climate, while the south enjoys a Mediterranean climate. Lisbon is the capital and Portuguese the official language. Textiles, footwear, winemaking and tourism are important industries.
Program overview (18–24 months)
Introduced in October 2018, this route grants Golden Visa residency through a EUR 500,000 fund investment. Holders may live, work, do business and study in Portugal. One application can include three generations, with access to public education, public healthcare and travel across 29 Schengen countries.

The main applicant must be at least 18.

A clean criminal record.

Invest EUR 500,000 in a fund.

Citizenship may be applied for after five years, subject to seven days of residence per year and A2 Portuguese; the passport offers visa-free access to over 180 destinations.
